What we liked
- + Hand pump starts the siphon without sucking on the hose, so there is no priming by mouth during a water change.
- + One-way valve is listed to improve suction, with a stated 30 L cleared in about 5 minutes.
- + Attached filter on the intake is described as keeping small fish and shrimp from being pulled into the hose.
Trade-offs
- - Manual pumping takes more effort than a battery or electric cleaner during large water changes.
- - The listing gives no hose length or tube diameter in its bullets, so check tank height against the hose.
