What we liked
- + Three color modes (white, red plus blue, or all three together), each with five brightness levels
- + Timer offers 6, 9 or 12 hour periods and repeats daily, with memory that restores the setting after a power cut
- + Metal clip tightens with a screw, the shell is aluminum for heat dissipation, and the power adapter cord is 6.2 ft
Trade-offs
- - Title says 14W while a feature bullet mentions 6 watts of output, so the real power draw is unclear
- - Rated for low to mid light plants and freshwater only, so it is not the pick for demanding carpets or saltwater
