What we liked
- + Same brand as the heater it replaces: a 50W submersible unit with a knob to set temperature across a stated 63 to 89 F range.
- + Listing describes electronic chip temperature control and a borosilicate glass shell with heat resistance.
- + A 6 ft power cord and a one year warranty are stated, which helps when the outlet is far from the tank.
Trade-offs
- - At 50W it only suits small tanks, so larger aquariums need a higher wattage unit.
- - The listing does not mention a separate thermometer or an external temperature display.
