What we liked
- + Listing states 91.2% light transmittance glass, which helps plants and hardscape read clearly through the front pane
- + Filter and light are included, along with a lid and a pre-glued leveling mat, so the tank is ready to set up out of the box
- + Comes with a step-by-step setup guide written for beginners, and the footprint suits desks and countertops
Trade-offs
- - At 2.5 gallons the planting area is small, so layouts are limited to a few small plants and modest hardscape
- - Listing gives no wattage, spectrum or flow figures for the included light and filter, so their strength is unknown
