What we liked
- + Listing describes a porous ceramic surface with a large area for beneficial bacteria, plus some mechanical filtration.
- + A bulk 40-pack of 6.2 inch blocks at about 7.9 lbs gives enough media to fill a sump or large canister.
- + Listing states the blocks can be cracked into smaller pieces, so the media can be fitted to different baskets.
Trade-offs
- - Forty blocks is far more media than a small tank needs, and it is a different product from a two-brick set.
- - The listing gives no pore-size or surface-area figures to compare with premium sintered media.
